Map of the entire Taiga!
Here is a map of the Canadian Taiga. The dark green area is where the whole Taiga is located. The dark green area in North America is the Canadian Taiga.
What is the Canadian Taiga?
The Canadian Taiga is also known as the Canadian Boreal Forest. As you all probably know, it is located in Canada. The Canadian Taiga is only part of the Taiga in general. The Taiga (also known as the Coniferous or Boreal Forest) is a biome, and is located in the Polar Zone (which is 66.5 degrees N and S to the Arctic Circle) right below the Tundra biome in the upper parts of North America, Europe, and Asia.
On the right is a Picture of the Canadian Taiga's location in Canada of North America! . . . Take a Look!
It is full of coniferous trees, which are trees with needle like leaves and are coned shaped. Most of these trees never loose their leaves even in the cold seasons. These trees are the reasons how the Taiga got its name.
Although the Canadian Taiga is located in the polar zone, there are fun ways to enjoy the cold. There are plenty of animals to see! If you think I meant that you'll see them in captivity then you're wrong. You get to see bison, moose, birds and many other animals living in the wildlife they are suppose to be in. Does the Canadian Taiga still sound boring? Well . . . Read more to find out!
